Typically PTO generators can be operated up to 15kw. The torque rating is not sufficient to handle a PTO generator larger than 15kw, and unlike the belt-driven model, the PTO generator only can be used when the truck is stationary.Another generator option is the hydraulic generator, which can be used while driving or stationary, and on two- or four-wheel drive up to 10kw. Although not as popular as the above generators due to its costs and maintenance requirements, this generator covers all the operational bases.

Engineered to operate on diesel fuel and light fuels such as JP-8 and kerosene, the DE Series units are designed for Euro 2 and EPA Tier I and Tier 2 emissions regulations. Plans also call for continued DE pump development to assist engine manufacturers in achieving Tier 3 emission regulations in 2006.The pumps are offered in three design configurations with progressively added features, according to Joseph Paganini, product manager, Electronic Pump Products, for the Windsor, Conn.-based fuel systems manufacturer. The configurations are defined as the DE 10, DE 20 and DE 30.
